KATIJO

Owner, Speech Language Pathologist
Katijo graduated from Kent State University with a Master's in Speech Language Pathology. She was certified by the Ohio Board of Speech Language Pathology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2013. While studying she found a particular interest in treating speech sound disorders, language delays, and feeding-swallowing disorders which became a huge reason why she opened her own practice.  She is also a trained provider in the SOS Approach to Feeding as well as SPEAK OUT!® and SPEAK OUT!® Group for Parkinson's voice.  Ultimately, she created the company, Innovative Therapy Center, to make a positive impact on others in the community. 

In her career she has provided assessments and therapeutic services in public schools through telehealth, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation hospitals, and private practice settings to both adults and children of all ages. 

Outside of her business she enjoys spending time with her family, camping on the weekends, reading books when possible, and traveling.

BETHANY (MISS B)

Speech Language Pathologist
Bethany graduated from Kent State University in August 2011 with a Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology. She was certified by the Ohio Board of Speech Language Pathology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2013.  Prior to becoming an SLP, she was a teacher (K-8 and Title I Reading) for over a decade. Her interest in language and literacy and neurological development, along with a desire to support individuals’ unique communication potential, led her to pursue speech-language pathology.
 

Her professional experience includes assessment and intervention with clients from diverse populations, ages 2 to 99. She has served children in the university clinic setting, in private, public, charter, and international schools, and adults in outpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities.  She is also a trained provider in SPEAK OUT!® and The LOUD Crowd® for Parkinson's.  Bethany has a love for literacy including Dyslexia diagnosis and treatment plan.  She has has taken extensive continuing education in this area with specific training in the Wilson Reading System® based on principals from Orton-Gillingham.

Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and son. Some of her favorite places include her garden, the Towpath and Metroparks, or curled up with a good book.

AMANDA

Speech Language Pathologist
Amanda graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2000 with a Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology. She was certified by the Pennsylvania Board of Speech Language Pathology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2001. Her professional experience includes early intervention, private and public elementary and high schools, pediatric outpatient clinics, acute care and rehabilitation hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home care, and private practice clients. She is a trained provider in the Dynamic Tactile and Temporal Cueing (DTTC) for Childhood Apraxia of Speech as well as SPEAK OUT!® and SPEAK OUT!® Group for Parkinson's voice. She also served as a faculty member for undergraduate and graduate SLP programs.  

She enjoys the process of supporting and encouraging each client to reach his/her best possible outcomes. Outside of work she can usually be found cheering at her sons' sporting events or watching The Great British Baking Show.

MALLORY

Speech Language Pathologist

Mallory graduated from The University of Akron with a Master’s in Speech Language Pathology. She was certified by the Ohio Board of Speech Language Pathology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2009. Throughout her career she has found a particular interest in play based therapy, language delays and feeding disorders. Her professional experience includes outpatient pediatric clinics, private, public and charter schools, acute rehab and skilled nursing facilities. She enjoys working with families to help loved ones meet their communication and feeding needs. Currently, she is our primary SLP in our feeding clinic with training in the SOS Feeding Program, the AEIOU approach to feeding, as well as several other courses in the feeding domain.  She was also trained in Vital Stim for adult dysphagia. 

 

Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her husband playing games, traveling and trying new restaurants, and partaking in the joys that come with motherhood. She enjoys being outside, reading and watching sports.

BELLA

Speech Language Pathologist

Bella graduated from Kent State University in December 2023 with a Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology.  She is currently in her Clinical Fellowship Year.  She has graduate clinical experience with early intervention, public elementary schools, and private practice with various speech and language disorders. 

Outside of work, Bella enjoys spending time with her family/friends, reading, and traveling.

KIM

Occupational Therapist
Kim has been with Innovative Therapy Center since 2019.  She's taken an interest in sensory approaches to treatment, and she has a vast background of working with both children and adults.  She is also a trained provider in the SOS Approach to Feeding.  Kim is dedicated to making sure her clients gain the occupations they need to succeed.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and vacationing!

Kiersten

Occupational Therapist
Kiersten graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor in Exercise Science degree from Bowling Green State University.  She then pursued her Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Cincinnati, graduating in 2023. Her professional experience includes completing her student fieldwork at Kids First in Fairlawn and First Start in Cuyahoga Falls, working with preschool through high school students with autism. She also has experience working with adults in the outpatient therapy setting. Kiersten also currently works part-time as an Occupational Therapist at Waterloo Local Schools and Brooklyn City Schools.
 
Outside of work, Kiersten enjoys going to Pure Barre classes, being a dog mom, spending time with her family/friends, and watching college football!
 
A fun fact about Kiersten is she was a cheerleader at Bowling Green State University!

ABBIE

Occupational Therapist

Abbie graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology from Walsh University. She continued at Walsh to earn her Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2023. Abbie completed fieldwork at KidsLink Neurobehavioral center and Streetsboro city schools, working with students in preschool through high school. She also worked with adults in acute care at both Akron City hospital and Akron General hospital. Abbie is Adult Vision Screening Certified and has taken an interest in sensory approaches!

Outside of work, Abbie loves activities outdoors, spending time with friends and family, taking care of her cats, painting, and going to sporting events!

LEE

Occupational Therapy Assistant
Lee attended Stark State School of Technology for her Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy. She graduated as an assistant in 2013. Since then, she has worked in a variety of settings including home health, nursing homes, and different hospital departments where she's provided services to both pediatrics and adults. She has recently joined Innovative Therapy Services to make a difference with the children and their families.
 
In her spare time, she likes to relax at home with her husband and pets, read, watch TV, or go out with my friends.

ELIZABETH

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Elizabeth is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She graduated from Kent State University in 2011 with Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  Her professional experience includes providing assessments and counseling to children, adolescents and adults with a variety of diagnoses including, but not limited to ADHD, anxiety, adjustments, depression and trauma.  Elizabeth most recently joined our team in becoming skilled in the SOS Approach to Feeding to support children and their families through the feeding therapy process.

During her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband, children and their two dogs.  She enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking, and watching football.

AMANDA

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
Amanda is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She graduated from the University of Akron in 2016 with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her professional experience ranges from treating individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses, to assisting children, teens and families in managing mental health related concerns. Most recently, Amanda has worked closely with the education system to help collaborate in order to meet the mental health needs of students in varying school districts. Amanda is most experienced in working with individuals with trauma, anxiety, depression, and improving parenting skills. Amanda is trained in EMDR, DBT, Sandtray and play therapy techniques. Additionally, Amanda can provide faith based counseling services if requested.
 
In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time in the sun, traveling, reading and playing with her two young children, dog and husband.

HOLLY

Office & Billing
Holly joined the team in 2017 with over 12 years of experience in the medical field. She is organized, caring, and can help clients with any questions they have about appointments. 
Holly is a mother of two, and when not working, you will most likely find her with her husband at one of the children's sporting events. 
She also enjoys doing volunteer work with her children as she wants to show them the importance of giving back to others, and to "do what is right, not what is easy to be the reason someone believes in the goodness of people."

CYNTHIA

Office & Receptionist
Cynthia joined Innovative Therapy Center in the Spring of 2021.  She has a background working in the medical field, and she is very friendly and approachable. 

Cynthia enjoys spending her days off with her husband and two children.

JACKI

Office & Receptionist
Jacki has worked in the medical field for many years as a medical secretary/assistant prior to joining the Innovative Therapy Center team.  She enjoys our friendly atmosphere and visiting with the families coming into the clinic each week!

When she is not working, she loves to spend time with her husband and two sons.  They enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, or watching her son's sporting events.  

SARAH

Office & Receptionist
Sarah is a current Kent State University student studying Speech Pathology. She is passionate about working with kids and loves the opportunity of working at Innovative Therapy Center.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her nephews.

JACEY

Office & Receptionist
Jacey is a hardworking, self motivated individual that joined our team in 2024. She graduated from Lake High School in Hartville, OH in 2020 where she studied business marketing. Her professional experience includes office administration with her families owned cruise travel agency. 
 
Outside of work she can usually be found off-roading in her jeep and attending various jeep events. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
